Week 2's Activities 9/14 - 9/18 - 2009

I am glad you are in my class, and I enjoyed our week together last week. This week we want to get going and start working on our reading, vocabulary, and writing. Do you have all your materials for class (SSR book, spiral notebook)? Charles Schulz stated "Life is a ten-speed bike. Most of us have gears we never use." This year let's see if both you and I can use all our gears. Remember - I will always be here in the mornings.

Monday 9/14
1. Read and edit “The Race” paper – Revise and type final draft

2. “Literary Terms” Test (assessment)

4. Read SSR Book 30 min.

Wednesday 9/16
1. Finish “Literary Terms” lecture
2. Honesty Policy
3. Read "The Interlopers" pages 8 - 13

Thursday 9/17
1. Handout – Literary Terms
2. Review Reading
3. Study Prefixes --- quiz 9/22
4. Prefixes – make note cards and study (xv - xvi)

Friday 9/18
1. Portfolio Exchange
2. Pre-Writing Assessment
3. Read and discuss “Test Taking Tips”
