Fourth week's Activities 9/28 - 10/2 - 2009

Nothing is more important than relationships. As the school year moves on let us build our relationship. Wednesday night is back to school night and I would love to meet your parents and start a relationship with them. You can earn 25 extra credit points if they sign in Wednesday night during your period. Andrew Carnegie once said, "There is no use whatever trying to help people who do not help themselves. You cannot push anyone up a ladder unless he is willing to climb himself." I hope you want to climb the ladder of success - your success. Remember I will always be here in the mornings, break, and the beginning of lunch, or come to the tennis courts after school.

Activities for 3rd week 9/21 - 9/25 - 2009

Orator, attorney, and political leader William Jennings Bryan said, "Destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice; it is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved." I hope you choose to work hard and work smart in our class. If you need help I will always be here. Remember when you are absent you need to make up your reading time and tests in the morning (7:25 am). Aeries should be set up by the end of the week - please use it to know where you are in our class.

This is the Bell Game Week and the Aloha Dance on Saturday. Enjoy and don't forget, high school is only once.

Week 2's Activities 9/14 - 9/18 - 2009

I am glad you are in my class, and I enjoyed our week together last week. This week we want to get going and start working on our reading, vocabulary, and writing. Do you have all your materials for class (SSR book, spiral notebook)? Charles Schulz stated "Life is a ten-speed bike. Most of us have gears we never use." This year let's see if both you and I can use all our gears. Remember - I will always be here in the mornings.

Welcome back to El Dorado week 1's lessons 9/8 - 11 - 09

Welcome back to El Dorado, I look forward to working with you this year and watching you develop over the next four years. In They Call Me Coach, John Wooden defines the elusive quality of success as: "Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best you are capable of becoming." This is what I will be looking for all year - "Your Best" - that is not a grade. I will always be here every morning at 7 am - 7:45 am to help you or answer any questions you might have. I will also be here at break, the beginning of lunch, and on the tennis courts after school if we do not have an away match. Let's work together and let's have fun together.

This week you can earn 25 extra credit points by getting a college rule, three section only, spiral notebook by Friday.
