As we finish the First Quarter most of you have done a nice job. So, finish this quarter strong understanding this truth: spectacular achievement comes from unspectacular preparation. There are no standing ovations for studying or doing homework, just self-respect, and higher scores. 8th week's lessons 10/20 - 10/24 - 2008

Aloha, it was great to see many of you at the homecoming dance. It looked like you were having a good time. I also want to thank those of you who participated in the the "Boxes of Love" project, you have helped other families to have a good time during the holidays. This is a big week for us as we wrap up our introductory vocabulary unit. You will have a 200 point test on Friday - make sure you are well prepared. Also make sure you are current in Fahrenheit 451. Finally this is the last week to make up any vocabulary cards or S.S.Reading you maybe missing.

Having the right expectations going into anything is half the battle. John C. Norcross, a clinical psychologist, has studied people and their goals, and he has found a characteristic that distinguishes those who reach their goals from those who do not:EXPECTATIONS. This week progress reports will be sent home; I hope your grade is what you want. We cannot live in a way that is inconsistent with our expectations for ourselves. It just doesn't happen. What do you want from this class, this school, and this life? Your actions will determine your result.
