The sun has set on your summer and now its time to get down to business!

Week One: 9-5-06 to 9-8-06

Terrific Tuesday-

1. Meet and Greet

2. Telephone #'s, e-mail, info cards

3. Classroom guidelines

4. Icebreaker: B-Day lines/Peer interview

5. Homework: Purchase class supplies

by Thursday and bring in signed

guidelines tomorrow (Wednesday).

Wonderful Wednesday-

1. Turn in signed guidelines (25 pts.)

2. Icebreaker: Circle of faces and names

3. Power Point Presentation of class overview

4. Literary Terms prior knowledge quiz

5. Homework: Read "The Race" and write a

one page response to the following prompt:

Describe the hardest thing in you life that

you have had to over come, explain how

that event made you stronger.

Who supported/ motivated you?

Tremendous Thursday-

1. Turn in "The Race" response

2. Review Literary terms quiz

3. Discussion on "The Race"

4. Grammar quiz (spell checker)

5. Check off supplies

6. Homework: Bring in an S.S.R book

for tomorrow (Friday).

Fabulous Friday-

1. Review Grammar quiz on the board

2. Set up reading cards (10 pts. each day)

3. Testing our memories: Review of Peer interviews

4. Homework: Secure a copy of the blue vocabulary

book if you have not done so already (vocabulary,

idioms, and S.S.R start Monday).

WOW... funny that I found you on here. I'm a graduate from EDHS & I'm now an English teacher. I was researching ideas on "Harrison Bergeron" and I stumbled upon your page. (I never had you as my English teacher... I was in Ms. Stark & Ms. Free's honors classes, but I did try out for the tennis team. I didn't make it but you recommended that I join the XC team... which I did and I excelled at. I graduated in 99. Just wanted to say "hi." OH... and I'm impressed with how much you plan to accomplish in the first few weeks of school. :-)
