Activities for week thirteen 4/30 - 5/4 - 2012

Magic Johnson paraphrased John F. Kennedy when he stated, "Ask not what your teammates can do for you. Ask what you can do for your teammates." Are you making our class more interesting? Are you sharing your ideas about our reading, and really getting involved in our discussions? President Woodrow Wilson asserted, "You are not here merely to make a living. You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world, and you impoverish yourself if you forget the errand." Are you adding value to our class?

Star Testing Week - think of all you have done - you can do well!
We are very close to finishing your second year at El Dorado and you becoming a junior. President Abraham Lincoln said, "You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today." Practicing responsibility will do great things for you. It will strengthen your talent, advance your skills, and increase your opportunities. Now we are going to finish To Kill a Mockingbird with a 200 point final. Will you be ready and improve your grade?

Activities for week eleven 4/16 - 4/20 - 2012

Novelist Charles Wilson says, "No matter the size of the bottle, the cream always rises to the top." Talent gives you a head start on others, but the advantage it gives lasts only a short time. Songwriter Irving Berlin understood this truth when he said, "The toughest thing about success is that you've got to keep on being a success. Talent is only a starting point in business. You've got to keep working that talent." As we finish the school year keep working your best. This week we also finish To Kill a Mockingbird with a test and final next week - make sure you are prepared.
