Activities for week fourteen 12/13 - 12/17 - 2010

As we move to Christmas - "do you know it is a party? It is a birthday party ... birthdays are meant to be celebrated. It's why we say 'Merry Christmas!'" stated Rick Warren. Let's work hard and enjoy this last week of school before vacation, then you can celebrate all the rest of this year. We will be working on our first full essay on Fahrenheit 451 and it is worth 200 points.

Please check Aeries and know your grade in our class if you are not passing or have a 'D' you need to see me so we can find a way for you to improve. Finally, make sure your notebook is up to date.

Activities for week thirteen 12/6 - 12/10 - 2010

We are finishing Fahrenheit 451 in the next two weeks, and Robert Strauss stated, "Success is a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired - you quit when the gorilla is tired." For you this means you need to put two good weeks in on Fahrenheit 451 if you want success in this unit. You may see me at the beginning of lunch for extra credit Monday or Tuesday. Also please check your S.S.Reading Points, you have until Thursday to make up any Reading Points. (You should have read 550 pages of you pleasure reading books.)
