Last Quarter - 10th week's lessons - 3/30 - 4/3 - 2009

British prime minister Benjamin Disraeli observed, The greatest good you can do for another is not just to share your riches but to reveal to him his own." That is really the essence of positive relationships that influence people to rise up and reach their potential. They see the best in you and encourage you to strive for it. Author William Allen Ward remarked, "A true friend knows your weaknesses but shows you your strengths; feels your fears but fortifies your faith; sees your anxieties but frees your spirit; recognizes your disabilities but emphasizes your possibilities." As we finish the school year let's lift each other up and influence each other in positive ways. If you are struggling in this class you need to see me this week, so we can set up a plan for you to succeed.

2nd Semester 7th week's lessons 3/9 - 3/14 - 2009

Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, The glory of friendship is not in the outstretched hand, nor the kindly smile, nor the joy of companionship; it is in the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when he discovers that someone else believes in him and is willing to trust him." As you move through school are you earning the trust of your parents? Many of you have earned my trust and I hope you will continue to work hard. Do you understand the things Attitus is trying to instill in Jem and Scout, in To Kill a Mockingbird?

Don't forget the extra credit due Monday before the warning bell. Print your Aeries grade and have your parents print their name and sign it for fifteen points; for ten more points have them write you and me a note about what they think of your grade.
