December - Week 14's lessons - 12/1 - 12/5 - 2008

We are finishing Fahrenheit 451 this week, and Robert Strauss stated, "Success is a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired - you quit when the gorilla is tired." For you this means you need to put one last good week in on Fahrenheit if you want success in this unit. All extra credit is due by Thursday. Also please check your S.S.Reading Points, you have until Thursday to make up any Reading Points. (You should have read 650 pages of you pleasure reading books.)

Thanksgiving's Lessons # 13 11/24 - 11/26 - 2008

This is a special time of the year as we move into the holiday season; I hope you have the ability to see real treasure and true value. Please check your grade on Aeries then you may see me for an extra credit reading for Thanksgiving vacation (you must know your grade). You must read aloud "A Thanksgiving Fable for You and Your Family" in a family situation and bring back a note from one of your parents. See me for the rest of the details. There is also a Fahrenheit 451 extra credit project for vacation. Please take advantage of your opportunities to bring your grade up during your time off from school.

12th week's lessons 11/17 - 11/21 - 2008

Montag becomes Ecclesiastes and Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, "There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven-" I pray you and your family are safe from the fires. If I can help you or your family please let me know, just email me. I will check my mail to see if any of you need anything. Remember Psalm 46:1 say, "God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.

Many of you did well on your Fahrenheit 451 test, let's keep working. You may turn in your Commentary Packet for half credit if you did not do it last week. Final, we may have to make adjustments this week so be ready to do whatever we need to do.

I hope the vacation was good for you and to you. My childhood idol Willie Mays said, "What you are thinking, what shape your mind is in, is what makes the biggest difference of all." As we approach the holidays let's remember all we have and use all of our opportunities to get the most out of ourselves, and help those we can. Did you pick up the extra credit project last week?

2nd quarter week 10's lessons 11/3 - 11/7 - 2008

One quarter down and three to go. We now start the second quarter and your grade continues until the end of the first semester. Many of you have a grade to be proud of, please continue with what you are doing. For those of you who want a better grade - work and work with me and you can improve your grade. Remember I will be here every morning to answer any questions and help you with anything you do not understand or want me to check over for you.
